WAKE-TO-WAKE
DUM DUM 540
Today Yun SangHyun, also known as Russell, just landed the first Dum Dum 540 wake-to-wake and it was perfect! The first person to ever land a Dum Dum 540 was Phil Soven off of a double-up at Boardstock in Stockton, CA circa 2002 or 2003. Tom Fooshee is also known to have landed this trick on the cable and even got a tail grab on it earning himself a "Trick of the Year" nomination at Wake Awards in 2011.
Russell is also the youngest rider in the world currently capable of landing a wake-to-wake 1080, which he landed last year. He just recently turned 18 and this will be his last year riding in the Jr. Pro division before moving up to Pro next year and we can't wait to see what else he's got up his sleeve!
*UPDATE: It seems Harley Clifford may have landed a Dum Dum 540 off the wake sometime around 2006 or 2007 - He says he has video footage of the trick on an old BlackBerry which he is currently looking for.
