April 24: Yonel Cohen landed the worlds first backside 1260, performed heelside on cable.
May 24: Harley Clifford landed three double-flips in a single contest run giving him the first ever perfect 100 score in a professional boat contest at The Masters in Callaway Gardens.

June 22: Busty Dunn landed the worlds first Toeside Backside 1260.
July 20: Mike Dowdy landed the first ever wake-to-wake 1260 revealed in his Real Wake video. This is only the second 1260 ever landed behind a boat, the first was Danny Harf off of a double-up in 2008.
August 1: Cory Teunissen became first rider to land a wake-to-wake 1080 in a contest run at the final stop of the Pro Wakeboard Tour in Janesville, WI.

Harley Clifford and Oli Derome landed wake-to-wake 1080's in an "expression session" back in 2012.
August 16: Guy Firer landed the first ever Heart Attack 540 which he named the "Firer Attack".
August 17: Daniel Grant landed the first ever 7-to-1 via a Wrapped Indy 720 rewind Stalefish backside 180, revealed in his MyWake Best Trick Video.
August 22: Steel Lafferty became the 4th rider in history to land a wake-to-wake double-flip in competition at Tokyo Pro. (shown at 1:13 in video)
August 23: Dean Smith became the oldest rider in history to win a competition as a professional (30 years, 11 months) at Tokyo Pro.

October 31: Phil Soven failed to win a single competition for the first time in over 10 years. The last time Phil Soven went an entire season without a win was 2002, when he was 13 years old. This reign of dominance makes him one of the winningest wakeboarders in the history of the sport, rivaling that of Darin Shapiro. I wouldn't expect this winless streak to go on much longer.
October 31: Cory Teunissen finished the season with 11 finals appearances through 15 events, 9 podiums and 3 wins. This marks the most successful rookie season since Parks Bonifay in 1995.


Harley Clifford had 8 podiums and 1 win in his 2009 Rookie Season.
November 1: Busty Dunn landed the worlds first Air Back Mobe 720.
November 11: Kim Yunseo became the youngest rider to land a double-flip on a wakeboard (13 years, 1 month).
December 13: Busty Dunn won his first competition as a professional, winning both the Features Only and the Traditional Cable divisions at the final stop of The Wake Park World Series in Phuket, Thailand.

December 13: Julia Rick had an undefeated season winning 12 of 12 events on the year and 14 consecutive dating back to 2014. This is the longest winning streak in the history of professional wakeboarding (male or female).
